Grey Power is a Advocacy Organisation with the emphasis on government policies for members in the 50 plus age group and for people under 50 as associate members. Our mission is to be the appropriate voice for all New Zealanders. The Whakatane District Association represents the views and aspirations of its citizens and brings the issues affecting our members to the attention of government, both local and national, together with the wider public in our local area.
We organise regular General Meetings throughout the year, each featuring a guest speaker, with tea, coffee and snacks available at the end, the majority of our meetings are held at the Knox Hall, 83 Domain Road, these meetings are advertised in our newsletters, which we produce five times per year and include items of interest which are applicable to our membership, together with items of local and national interest.
We also publish details of our up and coming Meetings together with copies of our Newsletters dating back to November 2015 on this website.
Whakatane District Grey Power Association are part of the Mid Northern Zone, stretching from Coromandel in the North to Gisborne in the East and Taupo to the South, which gives added strength to the voice in promoting the ideas for improvements to the day to day lives of not only those 50 plus members of New Zealand society, but ultimately, all who live here.
